Alma wins one Lion and three shortlists at Cannes

The agency has won Lions five years in a row.

At the prestigious Cannes Lions 2019, Alma was awarded a Bronze Lion, the 23rd Lion in the agency’s history. Alma has won at Cannes Lions for five consecutive years, the most trophies any multicultural agency has ever been awarded.

The agency was recognized for its “Guns” campaign for the non-profit Change the Ref. The Print & Publishing winner is a comparison and contrast between gun violence in the State of Florida and other states combined. Florida is one of the most gun violent states in the nation.

Alma’s 3D Activist campaign for Change the Ref also obtained three shortlists for the Film, Outdoor, and Sustainable Development Goals categories. The documentary showcases the creation of the first-ever 3D-printed activist Joaquin “Guac” Oliver, who was one of the 17 victims of the Parkland Shooting.

Also, for the first time in Alma’s history, the agency was featured on Cannes’ big stage. Luis Miguel Messianu, CEO at Alma, and Manuel Oliver of Change the Ref hosted a session to discuss the 3D Activist campaign and the importance of creativity to fight issues like gun violence.
